Summary of the work The Software architect will work as part of HM Passport Office's Technical Design Authority, supporting major transformation initiatives as Architect Owner, proving technical leadership for the ongoing improvement of HMPO's software engineering capability. Specialist role Technical Architect Expected Contract Length 24 months total. Initial 6 months, further period up to 18 months depending on needs& performance Latest start date Tuesday 1 October 2019 Maximum Day Rate £800 Who Speclialist Work With The Software architect will work as part of HMPO's Technical Design Authority, supporting major transformation initiatives as Architect Owner. Proving technical leadership for the ongoing improvement of HMPO's software engineering capability. What Specialists Work On 1. Architect owner for General Registry Office IT transformation 2. Owning improvements to Environment Build Support Administration (EBSA) platform 3. Collaborating with Digital Data and Technology on the delivery of the enterprise strategy 4. Championing best practices and assuring alignment with these across digital portfolio Skills & Experience • Solid development experience (5+ years) • Microservice architecting experience • Experience designing HA mission critical digital service in large scale, complex organisation • Strong understanding and experience of applying Security by Design • Open Source & Automation Experience • Experience solution designer for Microservices, Container (inc K8) and Serverless (Lambda) based architectures Nice to Haves • Node.js or Java Development skills • Experience of designing solutions for large scale, complex, multi-supplier organisations Work Location Westminster, London Working Arrangments Onsite most of the week for face to face team meetings Security Clearance SC Clearance is required. HM Passport Office will support the clearance process.
