Tender description

X-ray CT is a non-destructive method for observing the interior volume of objects in 3 dimensions. TWI makes extensive use of computer tomography (CT) inspection as part of its X-ray inspection R and D services to its clients. To enhance TWI’s radiographic inspection capabilities, TWI have a requirement for a further X-ray computed tomography inspection system. This system is to offer at least 240 kV capability, with a 5μm focal spot size, supplied with its own enclosure and have the additional capability of scanning and capturing data on long objects in an automated fashion. Please be advised that TWI are happy to receive tenders offering new, refurbished or ex-demo equipment providing they meet all requirements below. This specification has been produced as part of an initiative known as AEMRI (Advanced Engineering Materials Research Institute), which is funded by the Welsh European Funding Office (WEFO) using European Regional Development Funds (ERDF).
