The NHS Wales Informatics Service is seeking to procure a software asset management system to support its management processes. The primary purpose of the system will be to manage the licences of deployed software. A summary of some of the key functional and reporting requirements of the solution include: — the ability to record the licences held by the organisation, — the ability to ascertain what software is installed on an individual device (physically or virtually), — a physical device may be a serve, laptop, desktop, PC, tablet computer or smart phone, — the ability to reconcile the licensing and installed assets intelligently taking into account the licensing rules associated with individual pieces of software, — facilities for the interrogation and reporting of the information required.
