NHSBT utilises rapid plasma freezers in the manufacture of plasma and cryoprecipitate components. The current rapid plasma freezing equipment in use in NHSBT is the PlasmaFrost freezer. The refrigerant flows inside the shelves while the uniformity plates press the bags to evenly distribute the temperature. The bags are frozen by conductivity through a direct thermal exchange. Prior to commencing a formal procurement process and to help inform our strategy/requirements, It is NHSBT's intention to engage with the market to gather detailed information about the market's capabilities. The format for this will be communicated to those that respond to this PIN. If a supplier engagement day is deemed necessary, this will be held in late September/early October.
