Off Road Driver training (ATV & 4x4)

Tender description

This is a practical initiative where by driver training should be provided to APHA staff face to face to in vehicle and delivered off-road. APHA staff would ideally like to use their own vehicles to train in. Quotations should be provided based on a 1:1 and 2:1 ratio (1 or 2 staff to one instructor). APHA do not require be-spoke content so ‘off the shelf’ products would be suitable. We would expect the supplier to use trained and accredited trainers to deliver this specialist driver training. We wish to reduce the risk of driving incidents and harm to staff when undertaking their duties. The training need has been identified following several Road traffic accidents including rolling, minor bumps and scrapes and getting stuck in mud. In addition to providing Safe Driver training APHA also have a duty of care to its people and provide sufficient training/instruction when using specialist vehicles as part of their duties. The training is required to meet our departmental driving policy which is also consistent with the core department (DEFRA). Staff as part of their duties are required to drive 4x4 and ATV vehicles outdoors in all weather. Staff drive these vehicles on road, on green lanes, farm tracks, across fields through forests etc. Some tow small trailers and small boats which need to be launched from the vehicle but there are also some much larger trailers with bird radar equipment
