Tender description

The aim of the service is to provide flexible, co-produced residential respite for up to 6 adults with learning disabilities, including those with multiple diagnosis (autism spectrum disorders, physical disabilities, etc.) in the same 6 bedroom property located in Wimbledon SW19. Respite may either be planned or unplanned and it should be noted that the service is expected to run 7 days a week including bank holidays. The successful provider will be expected to adapt their models of care and support in order to accommodate some young people with learning disabilities coming through transitions. The services are required to: ­— meet the assessed needs of residents, their carers and families, ­— fulfil the outcomes set out in care and support plans, ­— give carers a break from caring, ­— enable carers to continue in full or part time employment, ­— enhance the health, well-being and quality of life of carers and those cared-for, ­— enable carers and those cared-for to be part of their wider community by maintaining independence, reducing isolation, and increasing social networks and friendships, ­— balance the needs and wishes of both carers and the cared-for in the provision of services, ­— make best use of person-centred planning.
