Coventry City Council (the Council) is keen to initially understand the opportunity in Coventry for attracting sponsorship and/or advertising on either a one off and/or an ongoing city wide basis. The Council then wishes to deliver the opportunities identified to achieve substantial levels of sponsorship and income. Coventry is a host city for the Common Wealth Games in 2022, will be City of Culture in 2021, and is City of Sport in 2019. The city is undergoing major development and is growing rapidly, with Coventry Railway Station passenger numbers being the fastest growing in the UK. The Council is a Unitary Authority, and owns a large portfolio of commercial property in the city. They are responsible for the highways network in and around the city, and have a significant parks and open space estate. The Council hosts the Godiva Festival, the largest free music concert in the UK, as well as other cultural and sporting events in the city. The Council would like to understand the opportunity for attracting sponsorship and advertising into the city as our profile in the UK and globally increases. A sponsorship agency is required to set out the art of the possible, to agree with the Council which opportunities are to be pursued, to develop a delivery plan, and then execute the same.
