Tender description
Bury Council are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced provider for: The Provision of the Evaluation of Dementia Community Support Services in Bury CURRENT PROVISION Bury Council are looking to commission an external organization to carry out an extensive evaluation of non-commissioned community support services for people living with dementia and their carers in Bury. The model for low level post diagnostic community support services in Bury is not commissioned by the Council or the Clinical Commissioning Group as in other localities, rather the Council has supported and enabled a number of voluntary, community and faith groups and committed individuals to develop, set up and sustain community activities such as; i Singing groups ii Dementia Café’s iii Arts and Craft Groups iv Carer support groups As this is a non-commissioned model we are not able to fully assess and understand the contribution that these support activities make to the wider picture and to the quality of life for people living with dementia, their families and carers as there is no formal contractual monitoring process in place. SCOPE Bury One Commissioning Organisation has set aside some funding up to a maximum of £7,000 to carry out an evaluation of post diagnostic community support services in Bury. We want to assess; The overall impact of these services on people living with dementia, their carers and their families. We would like to understand the value of these services to the local community and where there are gaps in service and to provide evidence of good practice. We would like you to set out how you would carry out the evaluation, clearly defining your methodology but would envisage that this would include face to face discussions with key stakeholders, including carers and people with dementia and how you would demonstrate the impact of these services.
