Tender description

Service entails collection of food waste from North Devon and Torridge District Councils' depots and its haulage to the service provider's waste processing point at which the service provider shall compost the food waste. North Devon and Torridge District Councils together are estimated to collect around 5 500 tonnes per annum of household food waste which they store at their depots. This contract requires a food waste processing service provider to collect the waste and compost it. The contract is for an initial service period commencing on 14.10.2019 continuing until 31.3.2027, with option to extend the contract by a period or periods totaling a maximum further period of 4 years. This service is not divided into lots because a division into lots was considered to create a potential gap in the service delivery to both district Councils.
