Tender description
The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, hosted by Velindre NHS Trust are acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board who are seeking to establish a contract for Orthopaedic Productivity Review. The Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is looking to appoint external support to lead a programme of efficiency and productivity work within the orthopaedic elective service delivering care in Llandough Hospital. This work must be completed within 3 months of the award of the contract and will be undertaken at the University Hospital of Llandough. Working in conjunction with the Health Board's existing teams, the specific requirements are as follows: — improve existing operational management arrangements for the planning scheduling and delivery of elective care from outpatients through to discharge from the elective orthopaedic service, — identify and implement a set of operational management processes (the right information, the right meeting structure, the right involvement of key personnel with clear lines of accountability) for the Directorate to better plan manage and deliver high quality and efficient orthopaedic care and treatment on a daily and weekly basis, — identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve throughput and efficiency within the main components of the elective care pathway at Llandough including outpatients including pre-assessment and consent, the admission process, theatres and post-operative care, — identify opportunities and implement solutions to deliver improved productivity and efficiency in Operating Theatres at Llandough for Orthopaedics, — identify opportunities and implement greater standardisation across sub specialties and Consultants within Orthopaedics to create a more efficient and consistent approach, — develop and embed systems and processes to treat patients in the right order to ensure there is equity of care, including reviewing existing processes within the Directorate, including the role of the Waiting List Support Office, the Medical Secretaries, Consultants and the management onsite, — develop, implement and embed a performance management dashboard to support productivity and efficiency improvement — where possible integrated with our existing IT systems, — in relation to the above, develop, implement and embed standard operating procedures.
