WP3546 - Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Disposal

Tender description

1 Summary of Requirements 1.1 The Council wishes to procure a suitably resourced and experienced contractor, for the provision of transportation, recycling and disposal of Categories A to E of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), as defined within the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations 2013. See below: A - Large Household Appliances B - Cooling Equipment C - Display Equipment i.e. CRT, LCD and Plasma displays (including TVs and monitors) D - Lamps (excluding filament light bulbs) E - All other WEEE (except photovoltaic panels) 1.2 In addition to the categories above, bidders that are able to provide the transportation, recycling and disposal of household batteries, may be requested to do so, though this is not an essential requirement. 1.3 The Council is seeking tender submissions only from bidders that have attained status as approved 'Producer Compliance Schemes'. 1.4 The successful bidder will undertake the: (a) Provision of containers for all categories of WEEE at each of the two household waste recycling centres (HWRC's) within Walsall (b) Collection and transportation of all WEEE from Walsall's HWRC's (c) The final 'Treatment, Disposal or Recovery/Recycling' of WEEE waste (d) The above (a, b, and c) in relation to household batteries, though this is not an essential requirement 1.5 The Council is looking to appoint one supplier for this Contract. 1.6 The procurement process being used is the Open Procedure in accordance with the Public Contract Regulation 2015.
