However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement. Within the Oxclose, Albany and Fatfield areas of Washington, Tyne and Wear, 1,020 properties are currently heated via a "District Heating Scheme". This district heating scheme comprises of a number of boiler houses within various locations, the boiler houses each contain a number of boilers which provide heating to each of the 1,020 properties via underground pipework. A strategic decision has been made by Gentoo to remove this district heating network and install a new boiler within each of the 1,020 properties.
