Tender description
Across the North East of England, we currently have 3 STP footprints – Northumberland Tyne and Wear, Durham Darlington and Tees and North Cumbria. 5 CCGs across the NTW and DDT STP Footprints have come together to enter into a joint procurement for online consultations. The 5 combined CCGs are responsible for a population of 1 500 000 and growing and consist of 196 GP practices. This procurement is being carried out by the National Commercial and Procurement Hub (NHS England) on behalf of the commissioners. NHS England is using technology to empower patients and make it easier for clinicians to deliver high quality care and enabling patients to seamlessly navigate the service as part of its digital transformation strategy. The online consultation programme is a contribution towards this ambition. As part of the NHS general practice forward view, a 45 000 000 GBP fund has been created to contribute towards the costs for practices to purchase online consultation systems, improving access and making best use of clinicians' time. 5 CCGs across the NTW and DDT STP footprints have come together to enter into a joint procurement for online consultations. These are Sunderland CCG, South Tyneside CCG, Newcastle Gateshead CCG, North Durham CCG and Durham Dales, Easington and Sedgefield CCG, known as the North East online consultations collaboration. The 5 combined CCGs are responsible for a population of 1 500 000 and growing and consist of 196 GP practices. This procurement is being carried out by the National Commercial and Procurement Hub (NHS England) on behalf of the commissioners. The contract dates are from October 2018 – September 2019 with the option to extend up to 1 additional year to September 2020. The contract value is 178 218,00 GBP.
