Tender description
In Dumfries and Galloway as part of an agreed Council Policy Development Family Centres have been established in Lochside, Dumfries and at Park Primary in Stranraer to work together with families, key partners and other community providers to improve outcomes for: — families with children under 5, with a particular focus on children under 3, — those living in the most disadvantaged circumstances. Through the provision of family centres the aim is for them to be: 1) Welcoming, friendly, homely hubs where families can access a range of different services, facilities and activities; 2) The natural places to come to for advice, information, tips and support; 3) Places where: — parents can support each other as well as get support from professionals or others in the community, — families can learn, play and have fun together, and — families enjoy coming to and feel they belong. Lot 2: Rainbow Family Centre at Park, Stranraer — the gateway service will include the provision Early Learning and Childcare for eligible 2 years old (separately funded) plus family support. Through the provision of family centres the aim is for them to be: 1) Welcoming, friendly, homely hubs where families can access a range of different services, facilities and activities; 2) The natural places to come to for advice, information, tips and support; 3) Places where: — parents can support each other as well as get support from professionals or others in the community, — families can learn, play and have fun together, and — families enjoy coming to and feel they belong. Lot 1: The Family Centre in Lochside, Dumfries — the gateway service will focus on activities for parents and children together. Through the provision of family centres the aim is for them to be: 1) Welcoming, friendly, homely hubs where families can access a range of different services, facilities and activities; 2) The natural places to come to for advice, information, tips and support; 3) Places where: — parents can support each other as well as get support from professionals or others in the community, — families can learn, play and have fun together, and — families enjoy coming to and feel they belong.
