VAT TYPE OF CONTRACT - SEE BELOW CONTRACT AWARD DATE - 25/09/2016 DURATION IN MONTHS - TWO DESCRIPTION OF CONTRACT - SEE BELOW The purpose of the contract is to allow the further investigation of the Kerdiffstown Landfill site and immediate surrounding area to inform ongoing hydrogeological, gas and stability risk assessment works and the associated design and development of restoration proposals for the landfill site. The contract also includes the installation of gas extraction wells to supplement existing gas management infrastructure at the site. The aims of the ground investigation works are: · to facilitate the installation of additional groundwater and leachate monitoring wells within the underlying waste materials, superficial deposits and bedrock geology; · to facilitate the installation of additional landfill gas extraction wells which will be connected to an existing gas flare system; · to confirm the base and lateral extent of landfilling; · to improve the characterisation of the landfill waste materials present; · to confirm the natural ground and groundwater conditions at the boundaries of the landfill site; and · to determine geotechnical properties and characteristics for the natural strata at the boundaries of the landfill site.
