Tender description

The Metro and Local Rail Strategy, which was approved by NECA in July 2016, sets out where possible network expansions could be developed. The strategy confirmed that the routes would broadly follow existing or redundant railway alignments and identified a concept map for potential Metro and Local Rail extensions within the North East. To inform the feasibility of potential extensions and any assessment of prioritisation, Nexus wishes to understand the demand that could be generated by the extensions identified. This tender is for a zero-value contract to model and quantify the demand the expansions can generate, the origins of, and basis for that demand.
