Highways England is seeking the provision of services to undertake research into signalling and VMS positioning requirements, focusing on: a) Differences in existing signalling and VMS positioning requirements for motorways and smart motorways (Task 2); b) Signalling and VMS positioning requirements for all-purpose trunk roads (Task 3); and c) Seek to determine whether the existing (and any proposed) positioning requirements are robust based on drivers' ability to retain information presented to them via signals/VMS (Task 4).
