Non-exclusive framework agreement (FAG) for the supply to the NHS Supply Chain customer base via the E-Direct Route. Product range to include, but not limited to: — endoscopy consumables, — endourology consumables. However NHS Supply Chain may be interested in capturing other procedures or products that potential suppliers may consider relevant to the overarching requirement for devices, consumables and other products that are associated with endoscopy and endourology procedures. Precise quantities are unknown. It is anticipated that initial expenditure will be in the region of 150 000 000 GBP in the first year of this FAG, however this is approximate only and the values may vary depending on the requirements of those bodies purchasing under the FAG. The estimated value over the total FAG term (including any extension options) is 800 000 000 GBP. Endoscopy may be used to investigate symptoms in the digestive system including nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, difficulty swallowing, and gastrointestinal bleeding. It is also used in diagnosis, most commonly by performing a biopsy to check for conditions such as anemia, bleeding, inflammation, and cancers of the digestive system. The procedure may also be used for treatment such as cauterization of a bleeding vessel, widening a narrow esophagus, clipping off a polyp or removing a foreign object. Endourology is the branch of urology that deals with the closed manipulation of the urinary tract. It has grown to include all minimally invasive urologic surgical procedures. As opposed to open surgery, endourology is performed using small instruments inserted into the urinary tract. Most of the urinary tract can be reached via the urethra, enabling prostate surgery, surgery of tumors of the urothelium, stone surgery and simple urethral procedures.
