Belfast City Council requires catering and retail service provision across 4 of its venues/sites within Belfast. These have been split into 4 lots as follows: — Lot 1: Belfast Castle — wedding, celebratory, meeting and retail, — Lot 2: Malone House — wedding, celebratory, meeting and retail, — Lot 3: The Stables — retail, — Lot 4: Belfast Zoo — retail. Belfast Castle is one of Belfast’s main visitor attractions with over 100 000 visitors. It is also a popular venue for meetings and events with several rooms available, the largest having a seated dining capacity of 160. 290 meetings and 59 wedding/celebratory events were held in 2018/19. The retail element of the Castle includes a 40 seat tavern/cafe and a 40+ seat restaurant and is popular with tourists and local users. Located in the south of Belfast, Malone House is an 1820s mansion. It is a popular venue for weddings and social functions with 4 rooms available, the largest having a seated dining capacity for 120 people. 312 meetings and 19 Wedding Celebratory events were held 2018/19. The retail element of Malone House includes a 26 seat Malone Room Café/Bar and 40 seat Restaurant. Based in Lady Dixon Park the Stables café is a 50+ seater café with additional external seating available. The café is a popular destination for park users, families and walking groups and the annual rose week event held at the International Rose Garden at Lady Dixon Park in July attracts over 60 000 visitors each year. Belfast Zoo is the only zoo in Northern Ireland with more than 220 000 visitors in 2018/19 and its 55 acre site is home to more than 600 animals and 120 species. The zoo has 2 permanent catering operations: Lion’s Den — set in the heart of the zoo, the restaurant offers seating for over 100 covers and has a serviced café counter. It offers a full range of hot and cold food, drinks and snacks. Treetops — situated at the top of Cave Hill, the Tea Room has inside and outside seating for over 80+ covers and has a self-service café counter. It offers a range of light snacks, cakes, hot and cold drinks.
