Home First – Pathway 3 (longer term recovery in a bedded facility)

Somerset County Council is looking to assess market interest in the emergency provision of its trailblazing Pathway 3 Home First service in Taunton. This service supports timely discharge and ensures assessment and reablement take place in a non-acute setting, benefitting people’s outcomes and recovery. It requires joined up collaborative working with Musgrove Park Hospital and the Home First team, but the home will be supported in this, including provision of full-time therapy staff. A therapy based short term reablement stay in care provision enables a quick discharge and enables person centred care away from the deconditioning environment of an acute hospital. The requirements are listed clearly in this document but in short, we are seeking up to 15 beds in one location, initially for a period until the end of September 2020. This request for expressions of interest is issued solely for the purpose of conducting market engagement and does not constitute any commitment by the Authority to undertake any procurement exercise in the future. This exercise includes no element of supplier evaluation. No parties will be prejudiced by any response or failure to respond to this by the deadline, there is no commitment of any kind involved on either side. This request does not constitute a call for competition to procure any services and the Authority is not bound by any proposal offered.
