Hiring of Broadcast Equipment

Tender description

This document is the Invitation to Tender for the Hiring of Production Broadcast Equipment to the BBC. Please note this tender process represents the merging of the dry hire and wet hire broadcast equipment tenders. The BBC has a requirement to facilitate hiring of broadcast equipment by BBC in-house production teams. A roster of suppliers is required to enable productions to hire equipment in order to film in studios and on location on a short, medium and long term basis. The supplier will be responsible for provide the following but not limited to camera, audio and grip equipment and staff and/or operators to productions across the UK, to agreed production schedules and at competitive rates at or below those outlined in the pricing schedule. This will include booking and scheduling of crews and ensuring they are skilled for the appropriate categories as outlined above. An essential part of the Framework Agreement will be to support productions by recommending appropriate equipment and personnel. The supplier will further undertake to develop operator talent to ensure services will be met across the format range. The supplier will deliver equipment to location and replace faulty equipment. During these times, the supplier will inform production of replacement timeframes. The supplier will meet service and repair guarantees for all equipment provided. The BBC is seeking to award a maximum of 70 Framework Agreements to supplier’s who can demonstrate that they are able to meet the BBC’s requirements and provide a value for money service, to supply the following: • Cameras, Accessories, Grip and Crane, Display Screens • Specialist Cameras and Accessories • Production Audio Equipment, Talkback, Radio Mics and Walkie-Talkie Equipment • Editing Equipment, Linear and File-Based Record and Replay Devices • Equipment Operators, Technicians and Installers
