Tate has six sites, comprising four galleries and two storage facilities, which holds the national collection of British art from 1500 to the present day and international modern and contemporary art, along with an extensive Library, Archive and Public Records collection. Tate's mission is to promote the public understanding and enjoyment of these works and artefacts.
