Tender description
The primary objectives of the ground investigation framework include but are not limited to: — investigation and identification of geotechnical hazards, — providing information for geotechnical and geo-environmental risk assessments necessary for the planning and design submissions including supporting the establishment of the geotechnical design basis for design and construction, and — providing information for the detailed design and construction. It will be enabled for use by local authorities in England, that is county councils, district councils, unitary authorities, metropolitan districts and London boroughs. National lot — work orders over 2 000 000 GBP, — lots is intended to consist of a maximum of 3 suppliers. Suppliers within this framework will cover work nationally across the UK. It is intended that the 3 suppliers on this lot will be allocated to one of the below schemes: — lower thames crossing, — A66 North Trans-Pennine and Manchester North West Quadrant (both schemes combined), and — Oxford to Cambridge Expressway. The scope of a ground investigation comprises of but is not limited to: — early contractor involvement (not every ground investigation), — establishment, — fieldworks typically comprising intrusive (and sometimes non-intrusive) investigation, in-situ testing, monitoring, — post fieldworks monitoring, — laboratory testing (geotechnical and contaminative), — factual reporting. Regional lot — North West and North East — this lot is intended to consist of a maximum of 3 suppliers. Envisaged this lot will be available for use by Highways England Regional Investment Programme (RIP), smart motorway programme (SMP), operations and local authorities in England. This lot will involve work orders below 2 000 000 GBP within the North West and East of England. The scope of a ground investigation comprises of but is not limited to: — early contractor involvement (not every ground investigation), — establishment, — fieldworks typically comprising intrusive (and sometimes non-intrusive) investigation, in-situ testing, monitoring, — post fieldworks monitoring, — laboratory testing (geotechnical and contaminative), — factual reporting. Regional lot — Midlands and East — this lot is intended to consists of a maximum of 3 suppliers. Envisaged this lot will be able for by use by Highways England Regional Investment Programme (RIP), smart motorway programme (SMP), operations and local authorities in England. This lot will involve work orders below 2 000 000 GBP within the Midlands and East of England. The scope of a ground investigation comprises of but is not limited to: — early contractor involvement (not every ground investigation), — establishment, — fieldworks typically comprising intrusive (and sometimes non-intrusive) investigation, in-situ testing, monitoring, — post fieldworks monitoring, — laboratory testing (geotechnical and contaminative), — factual reporting. Envisaged this lot will be able for use by Highways England Regional Investment Programme (RIP), smart motorway programme (SMP), operations and local authorities in England. This lot will involve work orders below 2 000 000 GBP within the South West and East of England. The scope of a ground investigation comprises of but is not limited to: — early contractor involvement (not every ground investigation), — establishment, — fieldworks typically comprising intrusive (and sometimes non-intrusive) investigation, in-situ testing, monitoring, — post fieldworks monitoring, — laboratory testing (geotechnical and contaminative), — factual reporting.
