Market Engagement for the Provision of Security Services

Tender description

Hull City Council is currently in the process of undertaking market engagement to inform its service specification and procurement approach to commissioning the Provision of Security Service for Hull City Council. Please note this is not a formal tender process and will not result in the letting of a contract. The Council is testing the market to gather information and ascertain the level of interest in this particular Service. It is anticipated that a full EU tender exercise for this contract will be advertised during November 2019, with a contract start date for 1 May 2020. We anticipate the contract length will be for 3 years with the possibility to extend up to a further 12 months. Background The Council requires Security Services for various events which take place throughout the year to ensure the safety of the general public, as well as HCC staff. Events will vary in size and security requirements will range from general stewards to SIA registered security guards. It is imperative that the provider has the capability and the capacity to fulfil commitments for all of these events and able to work with third party agencies such as the police, ambulance service, fire and rescue etc. The Council may also requires manned/static guarding at various sites across the City ensuring the safety of buildings and equipment. These may be required day or night, weekends and bank holiday periods and it is imperative that the provider is able to provide resources within very short timeframes (e.g. following a break in of a property, or patrolling of empty property to prevent damage).
