Tender description

The seven Sussex Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), acting together under a Collaborative Commissioning Agreement, wish to procure a service provider for the Sussex Home Visiting Service who will form part of the Integrated Urgent Care Service in Sussex, interfacing and working in partnership with the newly appointed NHS111 and Clinical assessment services (CAS) provider, Urgent Treatment Centres, GP Improved Access services and other emerging urgent, primary and community health care services. The commissioners have agreed to offer the contract as a 3 year initial term with a single option to extend for up to a further 1 year (3 + 1 = 4 years maximum duration) at the sole discretion of the commissioner. The commissioners will take the view to extend to the full 4 years as soon as it is appropriate but with the first consideration at 18 months and thereafter at regular intervals. The vision for a more integrated urgent care system across Sussex will improve patient care and choice, as well as, streamlining and improving services for staff working in both primary and urgent care. The new NHS 111, Clinical Assessment Service and Sussex Home Visiting Service will be vital in the journey to integrate urgent care across Sussex. The commissioners have set a maximum total financial envelope of 16 000 000 GBP for the 4 year maximum duration of the contract. The new service will need to be in place by 1.4.2020, and the commissioners expect to complete the procurement process and award the contract November/December 2019.
