Tender description

The purpose of the Direct Payment Support Service is to provide advice and assistance to adults, children and carers who use, or are considering using, a Direct Payment & Personal Health Budget (PHB) via direct payments to meet eligible needs. Direct payments and PHBs, are sum of money identified to meet assessed eligible needs for adults, children or carers. The legislative framework differs between adults and children but in all cases the emphasis is on providing the greatest possible choice and control to the person with needs and those who support them to enable creative cost-effective solutions. With the right to flexibility afforded by direct payments come individual responsibilities to be accountable for how the payment is used, manage risk and in some cases adhere to employment law. It is therefore essential that people who use direct payments have access to high quality independent information, advice and practical assistance to choose and manage direct payments.
