Consultancy services are now required by Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for specific technical specialist support in the areas of nutrition. The consultant’s services will cover the following areas: • Providing professional expert technical services to the Policy Unit in the development of a nutrition strategy within the framework of Ireland’s policy for international development that builds on and refines the Policy Unit multi annual funding framework for global nutrition, and provides guidance for Irish Aid’s nutrition relevant investments and policy engagement both from HQ as well as at partner country level. • Providing specific expert technical services to develop technical guidance on how nutrition sensitive programming can be tailored to deliver on Ireland’s policy and intervention priorities. It is envisaged that the consultancy will assist in quality assurance of our research and learning partnerships including the Institute of Development Studies on their Social Protection and Nutrition work stream, our engagement within the Scaling Up Nutrition Donor Network in developing guidance on the OECD DAC voluntary nutrition marker, CGIARs A4NH, WHO on nutrition within Universal Health Coverage and the provision of remote technical support for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in our engagements on the Executive Boards of UN agencies. • Provide specific technical assistance, guidance and explanation to nutrition advisors in partner countries on what nutrition sensitive programming is and what it might look like across sectors, and provide nutrition advisors with a checklist of globally recognized nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive indicators to support integration of nutrition into projects and increase nutrition spend • Provide specific technical services to assess partner country performance measurement framework
