The National Lottery Promotions Unit requires the services of a media partner to promote the 25th Birthday National Lottery Awards across the UK at a national and local level. The National Lottery Awards are the annual search for the nation’s most popular National Lottery funded projects. They celebrate the achievements of ordinary people who do extraordinary things with the support of the National Lottery. Ten projects will compete in a public vote in four categories (Culture, Arts & Film; Heritage; Charity and Sport) for a cash prize and will be honoured on a special awards programme broadcast on BBC One. In addition, 10 National Lottery funded sports stars will compete to be named Sporting Legend. A panel will select a Special Achievement Award winner, a Young Achiever and a Lifetime Achievement honour and 12 Local Hero awards – for each BBC region. The public vote will run from 24 July - 21 August. The winners will be announced in August and September. The individual award winners will be announced on the television show which is due to be recorded on 15 October and broadcast on 19 November. The NLPU would like to work with a supplier who can provide access to at least one national print/online outlet and can guarantee coverage throughout the UK in the form of print, broadcast or online titles in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The NLPU requires the partner to provide coverage of the finalists; celebrity visits, the winners and the TV show recording. The bidder should provide examples of the areas they cover; outlets they can provide access to and associated social media support for online articles.
