East Renfrewshire Council is inviting tenders, from suitably qualified providers for provision of independent advocacy services. It is envisaged that the main focus of the service will be to support individuals with independent professional advocacy. This role is to inform, empower and represent the interests of the individual to improve access to health and social care services and to improve health and social care outcomes. 1.1) To provide a professional independent advocacy service for individuals throughout East Renfrewshire. The services are to be provided across different care groups including mental health, adults with learning disabilities, carers and services to older people with a particular focus on adult support and protection. Independent advocacy plays a vital role in supporting people to express their views and support them to gain the confidence to express their views themselves in the full knowledge that their advocate has no conflict of interest in the support they provide. To provide an independent professional advocacy service for children and young people who are or have been looked after including referrals relating to children involved in the child protection process, those with a learning or any other disability and young carers. To provide an independent professional advocacy service for children and young people who are considered to be vulnerable by way of mental health, child protection, caring responsibilities, learning disability.
