Tender description

Staffordshire County Council wishes to commission a service to provide education speech and language therapy for children/young people aged 0-25 years with special educational needs and disabilities. The successful provider will be expected to provide a speech and language therapy service: — to meet the education speech and language needs of children and young people, — to provide professional advice to inform the speech and language support required for individual children and young people. This will include supporting the speech and language needs of children and young people, as set out in the education section of their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), reports for, and attendance at, mediation and disagreement resolution meetings and SEND Tribunals as requested and attendance at the Early Years Forum. Staffordshire County Council wishes to commission a service to provide education speech and language therapy for children/young people aged 0-25 years with special educational needs and disabilities. This service will meet the speech and language needs of children/young people where this is set out in the education section (Section F) of an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The successful provider must offer a service that will ensure the local authority meets its statutory requirements in relation to speech, language and communication needs and seek to address the key themes outlined above. The successful provider will be expected to provide a speech and language therapy service which aims to: — develop the language abilities of the child/young person to their maximum potential, — teach strategies to the child/young person and those around the child/young person to reduce the impact of their difficulties, — working with children and young people directly to provide assessments, speech and language therapy and reviews, — providing professional expertise and advice.
