Specialised photography services

Tender description

The authority wishes to establish a Framework Agreement for the provision of specialised photography the “services”. The Science Museum Group organises and hosts many public and private events. These range in formality and style and can include but are not limited to exhibition launches, “Lates”, corporate events, children’s events and events for specific groups or communities. At these events, we usually want to capture the atmosphere of the event as well as the activities that may be going on at the event. We are more likely to highlight the types of people at the event (families, adults, business people, etc) rather than specific individuals. Future requirements may vary but for an overview of the type of events currently planned, please see the individual museum websites. We cover high-quality, high resolution archive standard object photography in-house using our own photographers. However, this style of photography does not always lend itself well to marketing activity. We often require photography with a more artistic style which may include more dynamic lighting, framing, etc. For examples, see the Science Museum Group detailed photography guidelines (Appendix A) and example photography (Appendix B). Objects can range from the very small to the very large and can have challenges in photography such as restrictions on handling or exposure to light. The Science Museum Group is constantly evolving and regularly opens new galleries and structures across the UK. These range from newly-commissioned modern galleries to restorations of historical architecture. Photography of these spaces needs to show them at their absolute best and reflect the world-class nature of our group of museums. The Science Museum Group operates a number of retail operations across its sites and online. Products range from souvenirs to science-inspired toys and games, the latest tech to homeware and fashion. We are constantly developing our ranges and therefore require high-quality photography to showcase our products online.
