Tender description

Provision of waste, recycling, street cleansing and grounds maintenance services within the Borough of Allerdale comprising: Lot 1: Waste and recycling collection services; Lot 2: Street cleansing and grounds maintenance services; and Lot 3: Bulking, haulage, sorting and reprocessing of dry recyclables and green waste. Provision of waste and recycling collection services throughout the Borough of Allerdale including: — collection of household residual waste, — collection of household recycling, — collection of household garden waste, — collection of bulky household waste, — collection of commercial waste and recycling, — recycling bank emptying and maintenance, — container supply and delivery, and — any associated services. This list is not exhaustive and consideration may be given during the procurement process to the omission of some of the services or inclusion of additional services or options for additional services which are related to and will assist in delivering the services. Provision of street cleansing and grounds maintenance services throughout the Borough of Allerdale including: — street cleansing and litter removal, — litter bin emptying, cleaning and maintenance, — fly-tipping inspection and removal, — graffiti and fly-posting inspection and removal, — beach cleansing, — car park cleansing, — cleansing of street furniture, — animal carcass removal, — gully cleansing, — public toilet cleaning, — street lighting maintenance, — grass cutting and strimming of council land and other specified areas, — planting and maintenance of bulbs, bedding plants, roses, shrubs and hedges, — tree planting, inspection and maintenance (proactive and reactive), — maintenance of facilities for bowls, tennis, football and rugby, — maintenance of nature conservation sites and reserves, — grave digging, backfilling, turfing and levelling, — maintenance of 8 cemeteries and 12 closed churchyards, — weed control, — emergency field drainage works, — safety inspections and minor maintenance of strategic play areas, and — any associated services. This list is not exhaustive and consideration may be given during the procurement process to the omission of some of the services or inclusion of additional services or options for additional services which are related to and will assist in delivering the services. A service for the bulking, haulage, sorting (co-mingled element) and reprocessing of dry recyclable material and green waste that is collected on behalf of Allerdale Borough Council from households, recycling bring sites and commercial premises within the Borough.
