Tender description
The contracting entity is seeking interest in the provision of the following services for it's gas transmission and distribution network in Wales and the South West of England: Aerial helicopter based pipeline surveying: to carry out fortnightly aerial helicopter based survey of local gas transmission network and above ground facilities (approximately 3 500 km) to identify encroachments and ensure integrity and security. WWU are required, as a condition of our license arrangements, to conduct regular surveys of critical sections of gas distribution pipeline (approximately 3 500 km) in our geographical area of responsibility. We have chosen to conduct these surveys by aerial means, specifically using helicopters as this provides the flexibility for intervention when high risk activities on or near the pipeline are observed. Also within scope are a number of third party pipelines, currently circa 50 km within the relevant geography that WWU undertake aerial surveys of under contract. In addition, we are also required to maintain a visual record of the high pressure sections of pipeline (approximately 2 400 km), updated on a 4-yearly basis on a cycle of approximately 600 km per year. We currently achieve this record (this) by aerial filming. The lot structure is as follows: 1) Aerial pipeline surveillance; 2) Aerial pipeline filming; 3) Aerial pipeline surveillance and filming. Please note that the PQQ is running in tandem with the OJEU notice and will close on Friday 8th February, 10:00 am.
