North Bristol NHS Trust provides hospital and community healthcare to the residents of Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset together with a range of regional services. Our aim is to deliver exceptional healthcare for all patients and carers. Bristol Genetics Laboratory (BGL) inc Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics disciplines, delivers a range of genetic analysis services to the UK and internationally for a variety of inherited and acquired genetic disorders. BGL is part of the UK National Genetics Network and a partner org. within the West of England NHS Genomic Medicine Centre involved in delivering the 100 000 Genome project. As part of an integrated Pathology service the BGL works in close collaboration with colleagues in other Pathology disciplines, incl PHEs South West laboratory service, as well as Clinical Genetics, obstetrics, paediatrics and oncology services. BGL requires high throughput automated capillary electrophoresis instrumentation to provide a Sanger sequencing service. Bristol Genetics Laboratory has a requirement for high throughput automated capillary electrophoresis instrumentation to provide a Sanger sequencing service. A DNA Sequencer is required for installation accordingly on a supply and install/commissioned basis.
