Tender description

Medway Council in partnership with Medway NHS Clinical Commissioning Group has commissioned a new Integrated Domestic Abuse Service for Medway. The successful provider is expected to develop and deliver an integrated and outcome focused domestic abuse service aimed at reducing the incidences and health impact of domestic abuse in Medway. The successful provider will be expected to work with existing services (including victim support) to improve pathways and outcomes for victims. The new service would be a vehicle to deliver Medway Council’s vision where victims of domestic abuse receive the support they need in a timely way to reduce incidences of abuse and ensure residents of Medway live longer healthier lives. The new service will be modelled around prevention and early intervention, delivering focused, holistic support to families in order to improve pathways and outcomes for individuals and families affected by domestic abuse. Services provided under this contract are for residents of Medway who have experienced domestic abuse, this includes high, medium and standard (where not supported by the PCC commissioned victim support service) risk clients. Whilst this contract does not include services specifically for children, it is expected that the Provider will take a whole family approach and support everyone affected by the domestic abuse to access appropriate services. — the provider will ensure availability in line with local need, — the provider will be required to ensure the service is accessible as required, — the provider will offer appropriate support when and where required. To further support service users with the recovery from the experience of domestic abuse, the provider will actively engage with other resources and activities that enable the consequences of domestic abuse to be lessened, reducing longer term emotional and psychological harms. Whilst supporting service users to maintain their tenancy is part of this specification, provision of accommodation including refuges is not in scope.
