Tender description

Provide recycled furniture and electrical goods to identified service users under the Council's HELP scheme. Help in Emergencies for Local People (HELP) The HELP scheme is a discretionary scheme offering a range of local welfare assistance including but not limited to: — support for exceptional needs, — limited payments for emergency funding in a crisis or — to help people moving out of care. Any awards which are made, are conditional. All awards are subject to a means test, which means the Council will look at an applicant's income and expenditure. This means income that is available, including income usually ignored when considering a claim for Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax Reduction. Funding will be made on a one off basis, and will be restricted to one award in any 12 month period. Who can apply, — a resident in the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council area, — an applicant leaving care or experiencing an emergency requires help, — the applicant must agree to accept any support which is offered, — the applicant will normally be in receipt of housing related financial support, for example Housing Benefit or Universal Credit, — the applicant is also classed as vulnerable. The exact nature of the scheme and goods covered may change over the lifetime of the contract.
