Food Waste Disposal Services

Tender description

Colchester Borough Council (the Council) wishes to procure a food waste disposal contract. The Council currently provides a weekly food waste collection service to approx. 70,000 households. This contract is to secure a treatment/disposal outlet for the food waste collected. Full details of the service and the requirements are detailed in the specification. Estimated tonnages based on current participation rates are 5,200 tonnes p/a. The order volume is dependent on the tonnage collected from residents, therefore, the Council cannot guarantee the volume level stated. As outlined in the contract specification there may be an extension to the scheme during the period of this contract. Contract Period The anticipated start date is 1 April 2019 The expected end date is 31 March 2022 With an option to extend for up to twenty four months
