Our uniform plays an important part in representing the Birmingham Airport brand and has a huge impact on our customers experience. We have already had concept designs produced. We have over 700 members of staff which work across various departments, meaning that some elements of the uniform will be unique to a particular department whilst others will be carried across the whole business. The supplier of the uniform will also be responsible for the management of the contract. There are 2 lots under consideration: Lot 1: The ideal manufacturer will take our concept uniform design from concept to reality. Lot 2: The supplier identifies generic off-the-shelf products based on our concept and will customise these items. Only 1 lot will be awarded. There are over 700 members of staff with varying uniform requirements. This can include security, fire services, Motor Transport, IT, Customer Services, Bussing. Initial replacement of the uniform will either be implemented in the first year or phased over a longer period with the ongoing annual requirement relating solely to replenishment. Design has been undertaken and the manufacturers are to work to this. This requirement does not include PPE. There are approximately 700 employees requiring uniform, e.g. security, IT, Fire Service (non-fire fighting), Motor Transport, Customer Services. A design has been identified by the Airport and we are keen to explore utilisation of off-the-shelf products customised to reflect the design. The requirement does not include PPE.
