Works related to water-distribution pipelines

Tender description

Irish Water plan to carry out the rehabilitation/replacement of approximately 24,5 km of watermains together with associated works as part of the meath watermains rehabilitation Phase 2 works project. The proposed works is to take place at several locations throughout Co. Meath. It is intended that the works will be implemented under a Design and Build (‘DB’) contract. The contract consists of the design, construction, commissioning and testing, of approximately 24,5 kms of watermains and associated infrastructure, including 1301 consumer service connections, across the following locations in Co. Meath: — Slane, — Kells, — Navan, — Trim, — Laytown, — Athboy, — Piercetown, — Rathmullan, — M1 Crossing at Platin, — Ratoath, — Oldcastle, — Mornington, — Duleek, — Dunboyne, — Gaulstown, — Sutherland Lane. The contract includes the following: — the design, construction, testing and commissioning of approximately 25 km of watermains ranging in diameter from 90 mm PE to 355 mm PE, — the design, construction, testing and commissioning of consumer connections from public watermains to private properties including backyard service connections using trenchless methods, — the design, construction, testing and commissioning of watermains crossing watercourses and railway infrastructure by trenchless methods, — works to be carried out in areas of high archaeological importance and/or areas requiring Ministerial Consent, — works to be carried out adjacent to the M1 motorway and along TII national primary and national secondary roads, — works to be carried out in busy urban areas. The contractor will be required to take on the roles of PSDP and PSCS for the whole of the works.
