Why the Work is Being Done The Institute of Coding (IoC) is a consortium of universities, employers and outreach organisations, funded by the Department for Education via the Office for Students, with a mission to develop the next generation of digital talent at degree level and above. £420,000 funding has been allocated to a development intended to provide signposting for Institute of Coding initiatives, courses and opportunities in England. The IoC is looking for support in scoping this signposting project and welcome input from experienced and creative organisations. Problem to Be Solved This exercise is the scoping phase of a signposting project. The signposting project should raise awareness of the courses developed by the IoC among learners, employers, influencers; raise awareness of potential careers; and promote the IoC and its broader activities. We require services to assist in the scoping of this larger project, defining outcomes, criteria for success, stages of implementation and so on, based on good research and evaluation of options. Security Clearance Additional T&Cs Skills & Experience Evidence of experience with similar projects Demonstration of awareness of related national and international projects Ability to meet the deadline of 30th August 2019, assuming a project start date of 1st August 2019 Willingness to present an interim report, in person, half-way through the scoping exercise Ability to work with broad requirements and produce concrete plans Nice to Haves Evidence of previous experience working with employers, academic institutions and/or learners on projects related to digital skills Experience of international projects with similar requirements Detailed knowledge of Higher Education in England No. of Suppliers to Evaluate 5 Proposal Criteria Plans for conducting research in order to make confident plans for the pilot activities Plans for evaluation method Proposed project management Proposal quality Cultural Fit Criteria Key Staff experience (from CVs) Evidence of innovative approaches in previous projects Payment Approach Fixed price Assessment Method Written proposal Evaluation Weighting Technical competence 50% Cultural fit 20% Price 30% Questions from Suppliers Budget range “the signposting project total budget is £400,000. proposals for the scoping exercise are expected to cost less than a quarter of this total budget and include plans to generate a detailed spending plan for the remainder of the project time and budget.”
