Tender description
We are inviting tenders for the provision of aseptically prepared, dose banded batch chemotherapy to ENHT (Lister and Mount Vernon) in a working partnership. Partnership means an agreement to work together over a multi-year period looking to improve the services and deliver efficiencies year on year through investing in people, equipment and process. There is a national shortage of aseptic capacity, a situation which has been highlighted and reviewed jointly with NHS England and other stakeholders. The successful bidder must meet the strategic need of the Trust and NHS England to increase the available aseptic capacity through investment in incremental production capability. The Trust requires aseptically prepared dose banded batch chemotherapy to be provided to the Lister and MV sites. Delivery to these sites will take place at agreed points and times. The Trust is working towards maximising the utilisation of the NHS England National dose bands for the majority of chemotherapy listed providing the bidder’s products have proven extended shelf life to be supplied as dose banded, batch prepared products (RTUs) to enable minimisation of drug wastage. In addition, the bidder’s products must meet the Dose Banded Chemotherapy Standardised Product Specifications published by NHS England. The Trust will contract for the provision of batch prepared, ready to use chemotherapy doses for a period of 5 years with the option to extend the contract for up to a further 2 years on a year by year basis. This is to allow the bidder to commit resource and any additional capital expenditure to delivering the current and future requirements. The successful bidder must be able to accommodate the entire chemotherapy requirement of Lister and MV from the start of the new contract without any impact on the Trust’s contracted service levels. Where the Trust has elected to use a chosen biosimilar for any drug, the successful bidder must be able to provide batch doses for the Trust’s selected biosimilar with proven extended shelf life from the start of this contract. The estimated total value of the contract is stated in II.1.5) of this notice and is for the initial term inclusive of the approximate value for extensions.
