Tender description

Nottingham City Council sought tenders from suitably experienced and qualified entities for the execution of works to fit out the museum in the refurbished Nottingham Castle. This contract is one element of a larger project to transform the Nottingham Castle Museum and Art Gallery into a world class visitor destination. The awarded contractor is responsible for the fit out the new exhibition galleries within the redeveloped Nottingham Castle. The fit out will be in line with the creative briefs that have been developed by the content team. Tenderers were invited to submit their proposals for this scheme. In addition to Nottingham City Council the project is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Nottingham Castle Trust, Trusts and Foundations and number of local businesses. The contract is subject to the conditions of the funding body, and contractors will be expected to comply with the relevant requirements. This contract will deliver: — Area 1: Visitor Welcome Centre — AV Hardware menu screen installation, — Area 2: ‘Explore’ site interpretation signage to the castle grounds, — Area 3: Robin Hood Gallery exhibition including tunnel gate; courtyard gallery fit out, audio visual hardware; physical interactives; display lighting; graphic signage, — Area 4: Rebellion gallery fit out, display cases; audio visual hardware; display objects, including specialist exhibits i.e models; display lighting; graphics, — Area 5: 8 — Fit out of First Floor PAM galleries including display cases; audio visual hardware; display objects including specialist exhibits i.e models; display lighting; graphics. In addition to Nottingham City Council the project is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Nottingham Castle Trust, Trusts and Foundations and a number of local businesses. The contract is subject to the conditions of the funding body, and contractors will be expected to comply with the relevant requirements and any associated regulations such as procurement, publicity, and eligibility criteria.
