Tender description

Provision of various metal fabrications, structural repairs and associated maintenance support services at the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry. There are many routine and ad hoc maintenance requirements, as well as smaller projects across both services, for instance: — contract support services, — on-site welding inspection and testing, — welding, maintenance, repairs and metal fabrications on board the ferries, — maintenance and repairs to shore side infrastructure such as ferry chain gantries, — minor structural repairs to bridge structure, gantries and runway beams, — bridge and ferry inspection support, — routine annual maintenance activities — greasing, cleaning bearing and joints, etc., — larger one-off contracts such as major bridge access improvements, parapet trials, — general labour support — ferry chain replacement, ferry gantry maintenance. Please note that existing arrangements involve the present contractor typically attending at TB&TF sites each month for a duration of anywhere between 1-10 days depending on workloads and client requirements. Suitably qualified and experienced contractors are invited to attend a supplier information to be held at the Bridge Offices on Wednesday 4.9.2019, commencing from 2:00 p.m., to find out more and ask and pertinent questions concerning the proposed contract before it is formally advertised in late September. Attendance at this meeting is not mandatory but highly recommended. If your organisation wishes to attend this event please advise us in advance via the messaging system on the Portal for this project stating your name, company name, job role and email address but please note, in the first instance we will need to limit the attendees to no more than 2 personnel per organisation.
