Design and Supervision Consultants for an Extension to Rathfern Community Centre

Tender description

Rathfern Community Centre is located on Knockenagh Avenue in Newtownabbey adjacent to Carnmoney Hill. Currently the centre comprises 382 sqm of floorspace, made up of a training room, dance studio, main hall, board room, kitchen, toilets and storage. This proposed contract would result in the addition of 371 sqm of floorspace encompassing the following: - 2 large activity rooms (2nd dance hall; and a youth club facility) - 1 disabled toilet - 3 female toilets - 1 male toilet and 2 urinals - New and extended storage The contract would also include; Removal of existing multi use games area. Provision of a new 17-space car park (located to the left-hand side of the existing building. Landscaping. The estimated value of the construction works is in the cost range of £550-650k. The envisaged construction contract period is 6-8 months. The consultant team will be led by the identified Consultant who will be the interface between the Client representative and all other consultant team members. The remit of the service will include discipline input from, but not be limited to: • Project Management • Landscape Architecture • Architecture • Civil Engineering • Structural Engineering • Mechanical & Electrical Engineering • Quantity Surveyor (Cost Consultancy) • Principal Designer role under CDM 2016
