1-845 Weaving lengths, junction spacing and APTR datum points

Tender description

Highways England is seeking the provision of services to undertake research into weaving lengths, junction spacing and datum points. Specifically, this project will look at: 1) The suitability of current requirements for weaving lengths on motorway and all-purpose trunk roads for both urban and rural situations; 2) The scope of 'reserved lanes' in relation to weaving; 3) Minimum spacing requirements for dual carriageway to single carriageway transitions at lane drop/lane gain arrangements, as illustrated in Figure 1 below; 4) The suitability of the current requirement for the minimum spacing of priority junctions from the end of dual carriageway/single carriageway transitions; and 5) Datum points for All-Purpose Trunk Roads (APTR).
