SC18062 - Waste Transfer Services (Canterbury, Thanet and Dover)

Tender description

KCC requires waste transfer services that encompasses the provision of reception, handling and haulage of waste collected by Waste Collection Authorities (WCAs) within the East Kent Waste Partnership, including: Canterbury City Council; Thanet District Council; and Dover District Council. The required services are going to be split across three geographical lots: • Lot 1: Waste Transfer Services for Canterbury City Council (CCC); • Lot 2: Waste Transfer Services for Thanet District Council (TDC); and • Lot 3: Waste Transfer Services for Dover District Council (DDC). Waste Transfer Sites must be conveniently located to receive the waste collected by one or more of the above named WCAs in order to reduce the negative impact to the environment and public health caused by haulage of waste over unnecessarily long distances. Waste transfer services will include the following services: • the reception of waste (i.e. allowing the off-loading of waste by Refuse Collection Vehicles and other waste collection vehicles); and • the haulage of waste to waste processing/disposal sites. Bidders will also be given the opportunity to offer to deliver waste disposal services on behalf of KCC relating to specific waste materials received through delivering the required waste transfer services. This will be an optional service and KCC reserves the right not to accept offers relating to optional waste disposal services. Keywords: waste, refuse
