Worcestershire County Council and Worcestershire CCG are looking to commission a new service to provide interventions to reduce loneliness and social isolation in Worcestershire for adults. The core service provision is to include: — communication and promotion strategy providing flexible opportunities for engagement of volunteers and service users experiencing loneliness, — management, coordination, professional oversight and supervision using case managers to support delivery of outcomes by volunteers, — process of matching volunteers with service users, — training and accreditation for volunteers, — detailed assessment, tailored support and personalised plan for service users to help them to access support to reduce loneliness in the local community, — opportunities for 1:1 and group interventions which impacts on health and well-being, — links to social prescribing, primary care and mental well-being providers. The Council anticipate advertising this opportunity August/September 2019 with a contract for 3 years starting 1.4.2020.
