Market engagement for food and transport services at The Marjorie Collins Centre within the London Borough of Redbridge. The Aims and Objectives of the Service are to: • Provide an opportunity for people with Multiple Sclerosis to socialise, arrange and attend activities\therapeutic sessions in a safe environment that promotes friendship, good health and wellbeing; • Support Redbridge Health and Wellbeing Strategy in a number of ways, for example: • The provision of cooked meals, particularly for people who those who have difficulties in making a meal for themselves, will contribute towards a balanced nutritional diet – an important element in managing one’s MS; • Assistance with safe travel to and from the Centre to enable participation in centre-based activities will reduce a sense of isolation and contribute to health improvements; • The Service fulfils a respite role, by supporting carers to continue caring for people with MS in the community, thus delaying and reducing the need for higher levels of care and support through statutory services.
