Intermediate Care Beds — West Essex

In partnership with West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) Essex County Council (ECC) are looking to procure an integrated solution for Intermediate Care Beds for West Essex. The intention of the beds is to ease the pressures on the hospitals and allow people to have an assessment for their onward care needs outside of a hospital environment, people will be discharged into the service for a maximum of 6 weeks. There is also the intention that the therapies service will support people to achieve their best outcomes. The contract will be for 2 years with a possible 1 year further extension and will be a block contract. We require 18-25 nursing beds that would be additional capacity to the market in a self contained floor or unit. The floor or unit must only be used for the purpose of intermediate care beds and must not be used for long term residential stays. The service will be supported with a wrap around therapies service as well as GP and Social Worker support.
