Tender description

Commissioners within NHS Brighton and Hove CCG would like to commission a Memory Assessment and Support (MAS) service. The service is offered for tender under a standard NHS contract for a period of 3 years commencing on the 1.4.2020 with option to extend for a further year (3 + 1). The value stated represents the total value over 4 years (the contract primary period plus extension). Estimated maximum total value 3 970 000 GBP. The deadline for submitting bid responses is 12:00 midday Thursday 15.8.2019. The commissioners look forward to receiving your bid response. Improving dementia services is recognised as a key priority for the NHS — both nationally and locally. National goals for diagnosis by 2020: — achieve and maintain a diagnosis rate of at least two-thirds of the expected prevalence, — increase the number of people being diagnosed with dementia and starting treatment within 6 weeks of referral. National goals for post diagnostic support by 2020: — improve quality of post-diagnostic treatment and support for people with dementia and their carers, — all people with dementia given the opportunity for advance care planning. In 2017/18, Brighton and Hove CCG was rated by NHS England as ‘inadequate’ on dementia and has committed to improving access to diagnosis and support for all people living with cognitive impairment or a diagnosis of dementia and their carers. Key aims and objectives: Aim 1: provides commissioners with confidence that service specifications and operational standards are consistently met; Aim 2: provides timely access to person-centred, accurate assessment and diagnosis for people with suspected memory impairment and people living with dementia (and their carers) living in the community; Aim 3: the provision of high quality advice and support for other providers, especially primary care, on assessment and management interventions for dementia; Aim 4: to promote and support the well-being of people with dementia and their carers known to the service; Aim 5: to support the development of the workforce and volunteers, providing the service with the right attitudes and skill mix; Aim 6: to promote a positive experience of services to people with dementia and their carers; Aim 7: provide a range of agreed consistent, measurable and auditable information to support the performance management of the service, and to ensure accurate recording of diagnosis and interventions to primary care.
